Mama's Banana Bread

  • Butter - 1/2 cup (1 stick), room temperature
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp (or just use salted butter)
  • Eggs - 2
  • Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp
  • All-purpose Flour - 1 1/2 cups, sifted
  • Baking Soda - 1 tsp
  • Baking Powder - 1 tsp
  • Bananas - 3 ripe, mashed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

In a mixing bowl, combine the butter and sugar; mix well.  Add salt, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and bananas. Mix well.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50 minutes.



Hints:
  • Unbleached or wheat flour works well and provides texture.
  • A handful of dried cranberries and/or pecans add a tasty touch.
